Forensic Laboratory Welcomes New Staff

to the Biology Section

 

 

Amber Moeding
Amber Moeding, a native of Huron, SD, is one of two new staff members in the Biology Section of the SDFL.  Amber graduated from Huron High School and attended Black Hills State University, graduating with a BS in Biology and a minor in chemistry and art.  She continued her education and obtained a Master’s in Forensic Science from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, NE in 2008. Her hobbies include reading, football (Vikings and Husker fan) and camping with family and friends.  Amber has previously been employed by Geneseek, a livestock genetics lab in Nebraska.  She is happy to be back in South Dakota, and is looking forward to working with the SDFL staff and the SD law enforcement community.

 

 



Kristina DreckmKristina Dreckman an grew up in Zearing, IA and graduated from Colo-NESCO High School.  She earned her BS in Forensic Science in 2011 from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.  Returning to Iowa, Kristina was employed at Pioneer Hi-Bred in a quality testing laboratory until recently joining the Biology section at the SDFL.    Her hobbies include reading, church activities, sports, traveling, exercising and spending time with family.  She is anxious to begin her new career at the SDFL and foster new relationships with the law enforcement community in South Dakota.

 

 

 


 

Amber and Kristina are currently completing the training program in the Biology section of the SDFL.   Once their training is completed, this section will have six analysts working on evidence submitted for Biology/DNA testing.  This section is led by Forensic Scientist Eddie Aamold.
